Al-Ma'aarij (المَعَارِج) · Qur'ani Tukufu

سَأَلَ سَآئِلٌۢ بِعَذَابٍۢ وَاقِعٍۢ ١

Muulizaji aliuliza juu ya adhabu itakayo tokea,

A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen

لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ دَافِعٌۭ ٢

Kwa makafiri - ambayo hapana awezaye kuizuia -

To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer.

مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ذِى ٱلْمَعَارِجِ ٣

Kutoka kwa Mwenyezi Mungu Mwenye mbingu za daraja.

[It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent.

تَعْرُجُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍۢ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍۢ ٤

Malaika na Roho hupanda kwendea kwake katika siku ambayo kadiri yake ni miaka khamsini elfu!

The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.

فَٱصْبِرْ صَبْرًۭا جَمِيلًا ٥

Basi subiri kwa subira njema.

So be patient with gracious patience.

إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُۥ بَعِيدًۭا ٦

Hakika wao wanaiona iko mbali,

Indeed, they see it [as] distant,

وَنَرَىٰهُ قَرِيبًۭا ٧

Na Sisi tunaiona iko karibu.

But We see it [as] near.

يَوْمَ تَكُونُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ كَٱلْمُهْلِ ٨

Siku ambayo mbingu zitakapo kuwa kama maadeni iliyo yayushwa.

On the Day the sky will be like murky oil,

وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٩

Na milima itakuwa kama sufi.

And the mountains will be like wool,

وَلَا يَسْـَٔلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمًۭا ١٠

Wala jamaa hatamuuliza jamaa yake.

And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend,

يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْ ۚ يَوَدُّ ٱلْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِى مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍۭ بِبَنِيهِ ١١

Ijapo kuwa wataonyeshwa waonane. Atatamani mkosefu lau ajikomboe na adhabu ya siku hiyo kwa kuwatoa fidia wanawe,

They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children

وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَأَخِيهِ ١٢

Na mkewe, na nduguye,

And his wife and his brother

وَفَصِيلَتِهِ ٱلَّتِى تُـْٔوِيهِ ١٣

Na jamaa zake walio kuwa wakimkimu,

And his nearest kindred who shelter him

وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًۭا ثُمَّ يُنجِيهِ ١٤

Na wote waliomo duniani, kisha aokoke yeye.

And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him.

كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّهَا لَظَىٰ ١٥

La, hasha! Kwa hakika huo ni Moto mkali kabisa,

No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell],

نَزَّاعَةًۭ لِّلشَّوَىٰ ١٦

Unao babua ngozi ya kichwa!

A remover of exteriors.

تَدْعُوا۟ مَنْ أَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ١٧

Utamwita kila aliye geuza mgongo na akageuka.

It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience]

وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَىٰٓ ١٨

Na akakusanya mali, kisha akayahifadhi.

And collected [wealth] and hoarded.

۞ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ١٩

Hakika mtu ameumbwa na papara.

Indeed, mankind was created anxious:

إِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ جَزُوعًۭا ٢٠

Inapo mgusa shari hupapatika.

When evil touches him, impatient,

وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا ٢١

Na inapo mgusa kheri huizuilia.

And when good touches him, withholding [of it],

إِلَّا ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ ٢٢

Isipo kuwa wanao sali,

Except the observers of prayer -

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ دَآئِمُونَ ٢٣

Ambao wanadumisha Sala zao,

Those who are constant in their prayer

وَٱلَّذِينَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ ٢٤

Na ambao katika mali yao iko haki maalumu

And those within whose wealth is a known right

لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ ٢٥

Kwa mwenye kuomba na anaye jizuilia kuomba;

For the petitioner and the deprived -

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٢٦

Na ambao wanaisadiki Siku ya Malipo,

And those who believe in the Day of Recompense

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ ٢٧

Na ambao wanaiogopa adhabu itokayo kwa Mola wao Mlezi.

And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord -

إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُونٍۢ ٢٨

Hakika adhabu ya Mola wao Mlezi si ya kuaminika nayo.

Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe -

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ ٢٩

Na ambao wanahifadhi tupu zao.

And those who guard their private parts

إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ ٣٠

Isipo kuwa kwa wake zao, au iliyo wamiliki mikono yao ya kuume, basi hao hawalaumiwi -

Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed -

فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ ٣١

Lakini wanao taka kinyume ya haya, basi hao ndio wanao ruka mipaka.

But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors -

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ ٣٢

Na ambao wanazichunga amana zao na ahadi zao,

And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمْ قَآئِمُونَ ٣٣

Na ambao wanasimama imara katika ushahidi wao,

And those who are in their testimonies upright

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ ٣٤

Na ambao wanazihifadhi Sala zao.

And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer:

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ مُّكْرَمُونَ ٣٥

Hao ndio watakao hishimiwa Peponi.

They will be in gardens, honored.

فَمَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ ٣٦

Wana nini wale walio kufuru wanakutumbulia macho tu?

So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad],

عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ ٣٧

Makundi kwa makundi upande wa kulia na upande wa kushoto!

[To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups?

أَيَطْمَعُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٍۢ ٣٨

Kwani kila mmoja wao anatumai kuingizwa katika Pepo ya neema?

Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure?

كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّمَّا يَعْلَمُونَ ٣٩

La, hasha! Hakika Sisi tumewaumba kutokana na wanacho kijua.

No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know.

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلْمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَ ٤٠

Basi naapa kwa Mola Mlezi wa mashariki zote na magharibi zote kwamba Sisi tunaweza

So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able

عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ ٤١

Kuwabadili kwa walio bora kuliko wao; na Sisi hatushindwi.

To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone.

فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا۟ وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ ٤٢

Basi waache wapige porojo na wacheze, mpaka wakutane na siku yao wanayo ahidiwa,

So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised -

يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًۭا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ نُصُبٍۢ يُوفِضُونَ ٤٣

Siku watakapotoka makaburini kwa upesi kama kwamba wanakimbilia mfundo,

The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening.

خَٰشِعَةً أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ ٤٤

Macho yao yatainama, fedheha itawafunika. Hiyo ndiyo Siku waliyo kuwa wakiahidiwa.

Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised.
