حمٓ ١

H'a Mim

Ha, Meem.

وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ٢

Naapa kwa Kitabu kinacho bainisha.

By the clear Book,

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَٰنًا عَرَبِيًّۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ٣

Hakika Sisi tumeifanya Qur'ani kwa Kiarabu ili mfahamu.

Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand.

وَإِنَّهُۥ فِىٓ أُمِّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِىٌّ حَكِيمٌ ٤

Na hakika hiyo imo katika Asili ya Maandiko yalioko kwetu, ni tukufu na yenye hikima.

And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.

أَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنكُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَ صَفْحًا أَن كُنتُمْ قَوْمًۭا مُّسْرِفِينَ ٥

Je! Tuache kukukumbusheni kabisa kwa kuwa nyinyi ni watu mlio pita mipaka kwa ukafiri?

Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people?

وَكَمْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن نَّبِىٍّۢ فِى ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٦

Na Manabii wangapi tuliwatuma kwa watu wa zamani!

And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples,

وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِىٍّ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ٧

Na hawajii Nabii yeyote ila walikuwa wakimkejeli.

But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him.

فَأَهْلَكْنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًۭا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٨

Na tuliwaangamiza walio kuwa na nguvu kushinda wao. Na mfano wa watu wa zamani umekwisha pita.

And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded.

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٩

Na ukiwauliza: Nani aliye ziumba mbingu na ardhi? Bila ya shaka watasema: Kaziumba Mwenye nguvu, Mjuzi,

And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing."

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مَهْدًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ١٠

Ambaye amekufanyieni ardhi kama tandiko, na akakufanyieni ndani yake njia mpate kuongoka.

[The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided

وَٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍۢ فَأَنشَرْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةًۭ مَّيْتًۭا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ ١١

Na ambaye ndiye aliye teremsha kutoka mbinguni maji kwa kiasi, na kwa hayo tukaifufua nchi iliyo kufa. Na namna hivi ndivyo mtakavyo tolewa.

And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth -

وَٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْفُلْكِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ مَا تَرْكَبُونَ ١٢

Na ambaye ndiye aliye umba katika kila kitu jike na dume, na akakufanyieni marikebu na wanyama mnao wapanda.

And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount.

لِتَسْتَوُۥا۟ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِۦ ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَتَقُولُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقْرِنِينَ ١٣

Ili mkae vizuri migongoni mwao, kisha mkumbuke neema za Mola wenu Mlezi mnapokaa sawa sawa juu yao na mseme: Ametakasika aliye mfanya huyu atutumikie, na tusingeli weza kufanya haya wenyewe.

That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it.

وَإِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ ١٤

Na hakika sisi tutarudi kwa Mola wetu Mlezi.

And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return."

وَجَعَلُوا۟ لَهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ جُزْءًا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَكَفُورٌۭ مُّبِينٌ ١٥

Na wanamfanyia katika waja wake fungu. Kwa hakika mwanaadamu ni mtovu wa fadhila aliye dhaahiri.

But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful.

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ بَنَاتٍۢ وَأَصْفَىٰكُم بِٱلْبَنِينَ ١٦

Au amejichukulia watoto wanawake katika vile alivyo viumba, na akakuteulieni nyinyi watoto wanaume?

Or has He taken, out of what He has created, daughters and chosen you for [having] sons?

وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ مَثَلًۭا ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّۭا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ ١٧

Na anapo bashiriwa mmoja wao kwa yale aliyo mpigia mfano Mwenyezi Mungu, uso wake husawijika na hujaa hasira.

And when one of them is given good tidings of that which he attributes to the Most Merciful in comparison, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.

أَوَمَن يُنَشَّؤُا۟ فِى ٱلْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٍۢ ١٨

Ati aliye lelewa katika mapambo, na katika mabishano hawezi kusema kwa bayana...?

So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident [attributed to Allah]?

وَجَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عِبَٰدُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ إِنَٰثًا ۚ أَشَهِدُوا۟ خَلْقَهُمْ ۚ سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَٰدَتُهُمْ وَيُسْـَٔلُونَ ١٩

Na wakawafanya Malaika, ambao ni waja wa Mwingi wa Rehema, ni wanawake! Kwani wameshuhudia kuumbwa kwao? Ushahidi wao utaandikwa na wao watahojiwa!

And they have made the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned.

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مَا عَبَدْنَٰهُم ۗ مَّا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ ٢٠

Nao husema: Angeli penda Mwingi wa Rehema tusingeli waabudu sisi. Hawana ujuzi wowote wa hayo! Hawana ila kusema uwongo tu!

And they said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them." They have of that no knowledge. They are not but falsifying.

أَمْ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ كِتَٰبًۭا مِّن قَبْلِهِۦ فَهُم بِهِۦ مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ ٢١

Kwani tuliwapa Kitabu kabla ya hichi, na ikawa wao wanakishikilia hicho?

Or have We given them a book before the Qur'an to which they are adhering?

بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍۢ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِم مُّهْتَدُونَ ٢٢

Bali wanasema: Hakika sisi tuliwakuta baba zetu wanashika dini makhsusi, basi na sisi tunaongoza nyayo zao.

Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided."

وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِى قَرْيَةٍۢ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍۢ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِم مُّقْتَدُونَ ٢٣

Na kadhaalika hatukumtuma mwonyaji kwenye mji wowote ila watu wake walio deka kwa starehe walisema: Hakika sisi tuliwakuta baba zetu wanashika dini makhsusi, na sisi tunafuata nyayo zao.

And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."

۞ قَٰلَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكُم بِأَهْدَىٰ مِمَّا وَجَدتُّمْ عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَكُمْ ۖ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ ٢٤

Akasema (Mwonyaji): Hata nikikuleteeni yenye uwongofu bora kuliko mlio wakuta nao baba zenu? Wakasema: Sisi tunayakataa tu hayo mliyo tumwa.

[Each warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers."

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٢٥

Basi tukawalipizia. Angalia ulikuwaje mwisho wa walio kadhibisha!

So we took retribution from them; then see how was the end of the deniers.

وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّنِى بَرَآءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ ٢٦

Na pale Ibrahim alipo mwambia baba yake na kaumu yake: Hakika mimi ninajitenga mbali na hayo mnayo yaabudu,

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father and his people, "Indeed, I am disassociated from that which you worship

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِى فَإِنَّهُۥ سَيَهْدِينِ ٢٧

Isipo kuwa yule aliye niumba, kwani Yeye ataniongoa.

Except for He who created me; and indeed, He will guide me."

وَجَعَلَهَا كَلِمَةًۢ بَاقِيَةًۭ فِى عَقِبِهِۦ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ٢٨

Na akalifanya hili liwe neno lenye kubaki katika vizazi vyake ili warejee.

And he made it a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it].

بَلْ مَتَّعْتُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَرَسُولٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ ٢٩

Bali tuliwastarehesha hawa na baba zao mpaka ikawafikia Haki na Mtume aliye bainisha.

However, I gave enjoyment to these [people of Makkah] and their fathers until there came to them the truth and a clear Messenger.

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا سِحْرٌۭ وَإِنَّا بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ ٣٠

Na ilipo wafikia Haki wakasema: Huu ni uchawi, na sisi hakika tunaukataa.

But when the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic, and indeed we are, concerning it, disbelievers."

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْقَرْيَتَيْنِ عَظِيمٍ ٣١

Na walisema: Kwa nini Qur'ani hii haikuteremshwa kwa mtu mkubwa katika miji miwili hii?

And they said, "Why was this Qur'an not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities?"

أَهُمْ يَقْسِمُونَ رَحْمَتَ رَبِّكَ ۚ نَحْنُ قَسَمْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّعِيشَتَهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَرَفَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍۢ دَرَجَٰتٍۢ لِّيَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُهُم بَعْضًۭا سُخْرِيًّۭا ۗ وَرَحْمَتُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌۭ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ ٣٢

Kwani wao ndio wanao gawa rehema za Mola wako Mlezi? Sisi tumewagawanyia baina yao maisha yao katika uhai wa duniani, na tukawanyanyua baadhi yao juu ya wengine kwa daraja nyingi; kwa hivyo baadhi yao wanawafanya wenginewe wawatumikie. Na rehema za Mwenyezi Mungu ni bora kuliko hayo wanayo yakusanya.

Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate.

وَلَوْلَآ أَن يَكُونَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ لَّجَعَلْنَا لِمَن يَكْفُرُ بِٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ لِبُيُوتِهِمْ سُقُفًۭا مِّن فِضَّةٍۢ وَمَعَارِجَ عَلَيْهَا يَظْهَرُونَ ٣٣

Na lau isinge kuwa watu watakuwa kundi moja tungeli wajaalia wanao mkufuru Rahmani wana nyumba zao zina dari ya fedha, na ngazi zao pia wanazo pandia,

And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount

وَلِبُيُوتِهِمْ أَبْوَٰبًۭا وَسُرُرًا عَلَيْهَا يَتَّكِـُٔونَ ٣٤

Na milango ya nyumba zao na vitanda wanavyo egemea juu yake,

And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline

وَزُخْرُفًۭا ۚ وَإِن كُلُّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَٱلْءَاخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ٣٥

Na mapambo. Lakini hayo si chochote ila ni starehe ya maisha ya dunia tu, na Akhera iliyoko kwa Mola wako Mlezi ni ya wenye kumchamngu.

And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.

وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُۥ شَيْطَٰنًۭا فَهُوَ لَهُۥ قَرِينٌۭ ٣٦

Anaye yafanyia upofu maneno ya Rahmani tunamwekea Shet'ani kuwa ndiye rafiki yake.

And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.

وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ ٣٧

Na hakika wao wanawazuilia Njia na wenyewe wanadhani kuwa wameongoka.

And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَنَا قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرِينُ ٣٨

Hata atakapo tujia atasema: Laiti ungeli kuwako baina yangu na wewe kama umbali baina ya mashariki na magharibi. Rafiki mwovu mno wewe!

Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion."

وَلَن يَنفَعَكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِذ ظَّلَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ ٣٩

Na kwa kuwa mlidhulumu, haitakufaeni kitu leo kwamba nyinyi mnashirikiana katika adhabu.

And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment.

أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ أَوْ تَهْدِى ٱلْعُمْىَ وَمَن كَانَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ ٤٠

Je! Unaweza kuwasikilizisha viziwi, au unaweza kuwaongoa vipofu na waliomo katika upotofu ulio wazi?

Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muhammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error?

فَإِمَّا نَذْهَبَنَّ بِكَ فَإِنَّا مِنْهُم مُّنتَقِمُونَ ٤١

Na hata tukikuondoa, Sisi tutalipiza kisasi chetu kwao.

And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them.

أَوْ نُرِيَنَّكَ ٱلَّذِى وَعَدْنَٰهُمْ فَإِنَّا عَلَيْهِم مُّقْتَدِرُونَ ٤٢

Au tutakuonyesha tulio waahidi. Nasi bila ya shaka tuna uweza juu yao.

Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability.

فَٱسْتَمْسِكْ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ ٤٣

Basi wewe yashike yaliyo funuliwa kwako. Hakika wewe uko kwenye Njia Iliyo Nyooka.

So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَذِكْرٌۭ لَّكَ وَلِقَوْمِكَ ۖ وَسَوْفَ تُسْـَٔلُونَ ٤٤

Na hakika haya ni ukumbusho kwako na kwa kaumu yako. Na mtakuja ulizwa.

And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned.

وَسْـَٔلْ مَنْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رُّسُلِنَآ أَجَعَلْنَا مِن دُونِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ءَالِهَةًۭ يُعْبَدُونَ ٤٥

Na waulize Mitume wetu tulio watuma kabla yako: Je! Tulifanya miungu mingine iabudiwe badala ya Rah'mani?

And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped?

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَقَالَ إِنِّى رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ٤٦

Na bila ya shaka tulimtuma Musa kwa Ishara zetu ende kwa Firauni na waheshimiwa wake, na akasema: Hakika mimi ni Mtume wa Mola Mlezi wa walimwengu wote!

And certainly did We send Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds."

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَضْحَكُونَ ٤٧

Lakini alipo wajia na Ishara zetu wakaingia kuzicheka.

But when he brought them Our signs, at once they laughed at them.

وَمَا نُرِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ إِلَّا هِىَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ أُخْتِهَا ۖ وَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ٤٨

Na hatukuwaonyesha Ishara yoyote ila hiyo ilikuwa kubwa zaidi kuliko nyenginewe. Na tukawakamata kwa adhabu ili warejee.

And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith].

وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَيُّهَ ٱلسَّاحِرُ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ إِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُونَ ٤٩

Na wakasema: Ewe mchawi! Tuombee kwa Mola wako Mlezi kwa ile ahadi aliyo kuahidi; hakika sisi tutakuwa wenye kuongoka.

And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided."

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ ٥٠

Basi tulipo waondolea adhabu hiyo, mara wakaingia kuvunja ahadi.

But when We removed from them the affliction, at once they broke their word.

وَنَادَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى قَوْمِهِۦ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَلَيْسَ لِى مُلْكُ مِصْرَ وَهَٰذِهِ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِىٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ ٥١

Na Firauni alitangaza kwa watu wake, akisema: Enyi watu wangu! Kwani mimi sinao huu ufalme wa Misri, na hii mito inapita chini yangu? Je! Hamwoni?

And Pharaoh called out among his people; he said, "O my people, does not the kingdom of Egypt belong to me, and these rivers flowing beneath me; then do you not see?

أَمْ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى هُوَ مَهِينٌۭ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُبِينُ ٥٢

Au mimi si bora kuliko huyu aliye mnyonge, wala hawezi kusema waziwazi?

Or am I [not] better than this one who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear?

فَلَوْلَآ أُلْقِىَ عَلَيْهِ أَسْوِرَةٌۭ مِّن ذَهَبٍ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ مُقْتَرِنِينَ ٥٣

Basi mbona hakuvikwa vikuku vya dhahabu, au hawakuja Malaika pamoja naye wakamwandama?

Then why have there not been placed upon him bracelets of gold or come with him the angels in conjunction?"

فَٱسْتَخَفَّ قَوْمَهُۥ فَأَطَاعُوهُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا فَٰسِقِينَ ٥٤

Basi aliwachezea watu wake, na wakamt'ii. Kwa hakika hao walikuwa watu wapotovu.

So he bluffed his people, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were [themselves] a people defiantly disobedient [of Allah].

فَلَمَّآ ءَاسَفُونَا ٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٥٥

Walipo tukasirisha tuliwapatiliza tukawazamisha wote!

And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them and drowned them all.

فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ سَلَفًۭا وَمَثَلًۭا لِّلْءَاخِرِينَ ٥٦

Kisha tukawafanya kuwa watangulizi na mfano kwa wa baadaye.

And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples.

۞ وَلَمَّا ضُرِبَ ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ مَثَلًا إِذَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْهُ يَصِدُّونَ ٥٧

Na alipo pigiwa mfano Mwana wa Mariamu, watu wako waliupiga ukelele.

And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud.

وَقَالُوٓا۟ ءَأَٰلِهَتُنَا خَيْرٌ أَمْ هُوَ ۚ مَا ضَرَبُوهُ لَكَ إِلَّا جَدَلًۢا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ خَصِمُونَ ٥٨

Wakasema: Miungu yetu kwani si bora kuliko huyu? Hawakukupigia mfano huo ila kwa ubishi tu. Bali hao ni watu wagomvi!

And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute.

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا عَبْدٌ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُ مَثَلًۭا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٥٩

Hakuwa yeye (Isa) ila ni Mtumwa tuliye mneemesha na tukamfanya ni mfano kwa Wana wa Israili.

Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَا مِنكُم مَّلَٰٓئِكَةًۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَخْلُفُونَ ٦٠

Na tungeli penda tungeli wafanyia miongoni mwenu Malaika katika ardhi wakifuatana.

And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَعِلْمٌۭ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَٱتَّبِعُونِ ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ ٦١

Na kwa hakika yeye ni alama ya Saa ya Kiyama. Basi usiitilie shaka, na nifuateni. Hii ndiyo Njia Iliyo Nyooka.

And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path.

وَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ ٦٢

Wala asikuzuilieni Shet'ani. Hakika yeye ni adui yenu wa dhaahiri.

And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.

وَلَمَّا جَآءَ عِيسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ قَالَ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَلِأُبَيِّنَ لَكُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى تَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ٦٣

Na alipo kuja Isa na dalili zilizo wazi, alisema: Nimekujieni na hikima, na ili nikuelezeni baadhi ya yale mliyo khitalifiana. Basi mcheni Mwenyezi Mungu, na mnit'ii mimi.

And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey me.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ ٦٤

Kwa hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mola wangu Mlezi, na ni Mola wenu Mlezi. Basi Muabuduni Yeye tu. Hii ndiyo Njia Iliyo Nyooka.

Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path."

فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ ٦٥

Lakini makundi kwa makundi yao yalikhitalifiana wao kwa wao. Ole wao walio dhulumu kwa adhabu ya siku chungu.

But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day.

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ٦٦

Je! Nini wanangojea ila Saa iwajie kwa ghafla na wala wao hawatambui?

Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not?

ٱلْأَخِلَّآءُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلَّا ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ٦٧

Siku hiyo marafiki watakuwa ni maadui, wao kwa wao, isipo kuwa wachamngu.

Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous

يَٰعِبَادِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ ٦٨

Enyi waja wangu! Hamtakuwa na khofu siku hiyo, wala hamtahuzunika.

[To whom Allah will say], "O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve,

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ مُسْلِمِينَ ٦٩

Ambao waliziamini Ishara zangu na walikuwa Waislamu.

[You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims.

ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ أَنتُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُكُمْ تُحْبَرُونَ ٧٠

Ingieni Peponi, nyinyi na wake zenu; mtafurahishwa humo.

Enter Paradise, you and your kinds, delighted."

يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِصِحَافٍۢ مِّن ذَهَبٍۢ وَأَكْوَابٍۢ ۖ وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ ٱلْأَنفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ ٱلْأَعْيُنُ ۖ وَأَنتُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ٧١

Watakuwa wanapitishiwa sahani za dhahabu na vikombe; na vitakuwamo ambavyo nafsi zinavipenda na macho yanavifurahia, na nyinyi mtakaa humo milele.

Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.

وَتِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ٧٢

Na hiyo ni Pepo mliyo rithishwa kwa hayo mliyo kuwa mkiyafanya.

And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do.

لَكُمْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٌۭ كَثِيرَةٌۭ مِّنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ ٧٣

Mnayo humo matunda mengi mtakayo yala.

For you therein is much fruit from which you will eat.

إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِى عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدُونَ ٧٤

Kwa hakika wakosefu watakaa katika adhabu ya Jahannamu.

Indeed, the criminals will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally.

لَا يُفَتَّرُ عَنْهُمْ وَهُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ ٧٥

Hawatapumzishwa nayo na humo watakata tamaa.

It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair.

وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٧٦

Wala Sisi hatukuwadhulumu, bali wao ndio walio kuwa madhaalimu.

And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers.

وَنَادَوْا۟ يَٰمَٰلِكُ لِيَقْضِ عَلَيْنَا رَبُّكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنَّكُم مَّٰكِثُونَ ٧٧

Nao watapiga kelele waseme: Ewe Malik! Na atufishe Mola wako Mlezi! Naye aseme: Hakika nyinyi mtakaa humo humo!

And they will call, "O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Indeed, you will remain."

لَقَدْ جِئْنَٰكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰرِهُونَ ٧٨

Kwa yakini tulikuleteeni Haki, lakini wengi katika nyinyi mlikuwa mnaichukia Haki.

We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse.

أَمْ أَبْرَمُوٓا۟ أَمْرًۭا فَإِنَّا مُبْرِمُونَ ٧٩

Au waliweza kupitisha amri yao? Bali ni Sisi ndio tunao pitisha.

Or have they devised [some] affair? But indeed, We are devising [a plan].

أَمْ يَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّا لَا نَسْمَعُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْوَىٰهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَرُسُلُنَا لَدَيْهِمْ يَكْتُبُونَ ٨٠

Au wanadhani kwamba hatusikii siri zao na minong'ono yao? Wapi! Na wajumbe wetu wapo karibu nao, wanayaandika.

Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers are with them recording.

قُلْ إِن كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدٌۭ فَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْعَٰبِدِينَ ٨١

Sema: Ingeli kuwa Rahmani ana mwana, basi mimi ningeli kuwa wa kwanza kumuabudu.

Say, [O Muhammad], "If the Most Merciful had a son, then I would be the first of [his] worshippers."

سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ٨٢

Ametakasika Mola Mlezi wa mbingu na ardhi, Mola Mlezi wa A'rshi, na hayo wanayo msifia.

Exalted is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.

فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا۟ وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ ٨٣

Basi waache wapige porojo wakicheza mpaka wakutwe na hiyo siku yao waliyo ahidiwa.

So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِلَٰهٌۭ وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَٰهٌۭ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٨٤

Na Yeye ndiye Mungu mbinguni, na ndiye Mungu katika ardhi. Naye ndiye Mwenye hikima, Mwenye ujuzi.

And it is Allah who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity. And He is the Wise, the Knowing.

وَتَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَعِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ٨٥

Na ametukuka Mwenye ufalme wa mbingu na ardhi na viliomo ndani yake. Na uko kwake ujuzi wa Saa ya Kiyama, na kwake Yeye mtarudishwa.

And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned.

وَلَا يَمْلِكُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَن شَهِدَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ٨٦

Wala hao mnao waomba badala yake Yeye hawana uweza wa kumwombea mtu, isipo kuwa anaye shuhudia kwa haki, na wao wanajua.

And those they invoke besides Him do not possess [power of] intercession; but only those who testify to the truth [can benefit], and they know.

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ ٨٧

Na ukiwauliza ni nani aliye waumba? Bila ya shaka watasema: Mwenyezi Mungu! Basi ni wapi wanako geuziwa?

And if you asked them who created them, they would surely say, "Allah." So how are they deluded?

وَقِيلِهِۦ يَٰرَبِّ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌۭ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ ٨٨

Na usemi wake (Mtume) ni: Ewe Mola wangu Mlezi! Hakika hawa ni watu wasio amini.

And [Allah acknowledges] his saying, "O my Lord, indeed these are a people who do not believe."

فَٱصْفَحْ عَنْهُمْ وَقُلْ سَلَٰمٌۭ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ ٨٩

Basi wasamehe, na uwambie maneno ya salama. Watakuja jua.

So turn aside from them and say, "Peace." But they are going to know.
