الٓمٓ ١

Alif Lam Mim (A. L. M.)

Alif, Lam, Meem.

تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ مِن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ٢

Huu ni mteremsho wa Kitabu kisicho kuwa na shaka yoyote kinacho toka kwa Mola Mlezi wa walimwengu wote.

[This is] the revelation of the Book about which there is no doubt from the Lord of the worlds.

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۚ بَلْ هُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًۭا مَّآ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ ٣

Au wanasema: Amekizua? Bali hichi ni Kweli iliyo toka kwa Mola wako Mlezi ili uwaonye watu wasio fikiwa na mwonyaji kabla yako; huenda wakaongoka.

Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muhammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍۢ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ ۖ مَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ ٤

Mwenyezi Mungu ndiye aliye umba mbingu na ardhi na viliomo baina yao kwa siku sita, na akatawala kwenye Kiti cha Enzi. Nyinyi hamna mlinzi wala mwombezi isipo kuwa Yeye tu. Basi, je, hamkumbuki?

It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days; then He established Himself above the Throne. You have not besides Him any protector or any intercessor; so will you not be reminded?

يُدَبِّرُ ٱلْأَمْرَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍۢ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥٓ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍۢ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ ٥

Anapitisha mambo yote yalio baina mbingu na ardhi, kisha yanapanda kwake kwa siku ambayo kipimo chake ni miaka elfu kwa mnavyo hisabu nyinyi.

He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count.

ذَٰلِكَ عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٦

Huyu ndiye Mwenye kuyajua yasiyo onekana na yanayo onekana. Mwenye nguvu, Mwenye kurehemu.

That is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,

ٱلَّذِىٓ أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقَهُۥ ۖ وَبَدَأَ خَلْقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ مِن طِينٍۢ ٧

Ambaye ametengeneza vizuri umbo la kila kitu; na akaanzisha kumuumba mtu kwa udongo.

Who perfected everything which He created and began the creation of man from clay.

ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُۥ مِن سُلَٰلَةٍۢ مِّن مَّآءٍۢ مَّهِينٍۢ ٨

Na kisha akajaalia uzao wake utokane na kizazi cha maji madhaifu.

Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained.

ثُمَّ سَوَّىٰهُ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِهِۦ ۖ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ ٩

Kisha akamtengeneza, na akampulizia roho yake, na akakujaalieni kusikia na kuona, na nyoyo za kufahamu. Ni uchache mnavyo shukuru.

Then He proportioned him and breathed into him from His [created] soul and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.

وَقَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا ضَلَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَءِنَّا لَفِى خَلْقٍۢ جَدِيدٍۭ ۚ بَلْ هُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّهِمْ كَٰفِرُونَ ١٠

Nao husema: Tutapo kwisha potea chini ya ardhi, ni kweli tutarudishwa katika umbo jipya? Bali wao wanakanusha kwamba watakutana na Mola wao Mlezi.

And they say, "When we are lost within the earth, will we indeed be [recreated] in a new creation?" Rather, they are, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, disbelievers.

۞ قُلْ يَتَوَفَّىٰكُم مَّلَكُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ٱلَّذِى وُكِّلَ بِكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ ١١

Sema: Atakufisheni Malaika wa mauti aliye wakilishwa juu yenu; kisha mtarejeshwa kwa Mola wenu Mlezi.

Say, "The angel of death will take you who has been entrusted with you. Then to your Lord you will be returned."

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ نَاكِسُوا۟ رُءُوسِهِمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ رَبَّنَآ أَبْصَرْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا فَٱرْجِعْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَٰلِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ ١٢

Na ungeli waona wakosefu wanvyo inamisha vichwa vyao mbele ya Mola wao Mlezi, (wakisema): Mola wetu Mlezi! Tumesha ona, na tumesha sikia. Turejeshe tukatende mema, kwani hakika sisi tumekwisha kuwa na yakini sasa.

If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain."

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَءَاتَيْنَا كُلَّ نَفْسٍ هُدَىٰهَا وَلَٰكِنْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنِّى لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ١٣

Na lau tungeli taka tunge mpa kila mtu uwongofu wake. Lakini imekwisha kuwa kauli iliyo toka kwangu: Kwa yakini nitaijaza Jahannamu kwa wote hawa, majini na watu.

And if We had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me will come into effect [that] "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together.

فَذُوقُوا۟ بِمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَآ إِنَّا نَسِينَٰكُمْ ۖ وَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْخُلْدِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ١٤

Basi onjeni kwa vile mlivyo usahau mkutano wa Siku yenu hii. Na Sisi hakika tunakusahauni. Basi onjeni adhabu ya milele kwa yale mliyo kuwa mkiyatenda.

So taste [punishment] because you forgot the meeting of this, your Day; indeed, We have [accordingly] forgotten you. And taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do."

إِنَّمَا يُؤْمِنُ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهَا خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًۭا وَسَبَّحُوا۟ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ۩ ١٥

Hakika wanao ziamini Aya zetu ni hao tu ambao wakikumbushwa hizo, basi wao huanguka kusujudu, na humsabihi Mola wao Mlezi kwa kumhimidi, nao hawajivuni.

Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant.

تَتَجَافَىٰ جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًۭا وَطَمَعًۭا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ ١٦

Mbavu zao zinaachana na vitanda kwa kumwomba Mola wao Mlezi kwa khofu na kutumaini, na hutoa kutokana na tulivyo waruzuku.

They arise from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord in fear and aspiration, and from what We have provided them, they spend.

فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌۭ مَّآ أُخْفِىَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍۢ جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ١٧

Nafsi yoyote haijui waliyo fichiwa katika hayo yanayo furahisha macho - ni malipo ya yale waliyo kuwa wakiyatenda.

And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes as reward for what they used to do.

أَفَمَن كَانَ مُؤْمِنًۭا كَمَن كَانَ فَاسِقًۭا ۚ لَّا يَسْتَوُۥنَ ١٨

Ati aliye Muumini atakuwa sawa na aliye mpotovu? Hawawi sawa.

Then is one who was a believer like one who was defiantly disobedient? They are not equal.

أَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَلَهُمْ جَنَّٰتُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ نُزُلًۢا بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ١٩

Ama walio amini na wakatenda mema, watakuwa nazo Bustani za makaazi mazuri. Ndio pa kufikia kwa waliyo kuwa wakiyatenda.

As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, for them will be the Gardens of Refuge as accommodation for what they used to do.

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فَسَقُوا۟ فَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ ۖ كُلَّمَآ أَرَادُوٓا۟ أَن يَخْرُجُوا۟ مِنْهَآ أُعِيدُوا۟ فِيهَا وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ٢٠

Na ama wale walio tenda uovu, basi makaazi yao ni Motoni. Kila wakitaka kutoka humo watarudishwa humo humo. Na wataambiwa: Onjeni adhabu ya Moto ambayo mliyo kuwa mkiikanusha.

But as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny."

وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ دُونَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَكْبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ٢١

Na tutawaonjesha adhabu khafifu kabla ya adhabu kubwa, huenda labda watarejea.

And we will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will repent.

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن ذُكِّرَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ ثُمَّ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهَآ ۚ إِنَّا مِنَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ مُنتَقِمُونَ ٢٢

Na ni nani dhaalimu mkubwa kuliko yule anaye kumbushwa kwa Ishara za Mola wake Mlezi, kisha akazikataa? Hakika Sisi tutajilipiza kwa wakosefu.

And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord; then he turns away from them? Indeed We, from the criminals, will take retribution.

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ فَلَا تَكُن فِى مِرْيَةٍۢ مِّن لِّقَآئِهِۦ ۖ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُ هُدًۭى لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٢٣

Hakika Sisi tulikwisha mpa Musa Kitabu. Basi usiwe na shaka kuwa kakipokea. Na tukakifanya kuwa ni uwongofu kwa Wana wa Israili.

And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt over his meeting. And we made the Torah guidance for the Children of Israel.

وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ أَئِمَّةًۭ يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُوا۟ ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ ٢٤

Na tukawafanya miongoni mwao waongozi wanao ongoa watu kwa amri yetu, walipo subiri na wakawa na yakini na Ishara zetu.

And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs.

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ٢٥

Hakika Mola wako Mlezi ndiye atakaye fafanua baina yao Siku ya Kiyama katika waliyo kuwa wakikhitalifiana.

Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِى مَسَٰكِنِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ ۖ أَفَلَا يَسْمَعُونَ ٢٦

Je! Haijawabainikia kwamba kaumu ngapi tuliziangamiza kabla yao, nao wanapita katika maskani zao hizo? Hakika katika hayo zipo Ishara. Basi, je, hawasikii?

Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, [as] they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs; then do they not hear?

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا نَسُوقُ ٱلْمَآءَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْجُرُزِ فَنُخْرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرْعًۭا تَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ أَنْعَٰمُهُمْ وَأَنفُسُهُمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يُبْصِرُونَ ٢٧

Je! Hawaoni ya kwamba tunayapeleka maji kwenye ardhi kavu, kisha kwayo tunaitoa mimea wanayo kula wanyama wao na wao wenyewe? Je! Hawaoni?

Have they not seen that We drive the water [in clouds] to barren land and bring forth thereby crops from which their livestock eat and [they] themselves? Then do they not see?

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْفَتْحُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ٢٨

Wanasema: Ushindi huu ni lini, kama mnasema kweli?

And they say, "When will be this conquest, if you should be truthful?"

قُلْ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَتْحِ لَا يَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِيمَٰنُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ ٢٩

Sema: Siku ya Ushindi, wale walio kufuru imani yao haitawafaa kitu, wala wao hawatapewa muhula.

Say, [O Muhammad], "On the Day of Conquest the belief of those who had disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be reprieved."

فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَٱنتَظِرْ إِنَّهُم مُّنتَظِرُونَ ٣٠

Basi wapuuze, nawe ngonja; hakika wao wanangoja.

So turn away from them and wait. Indeed, they are waiting.
