عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلاَ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ أَعْمَالِكُمْ، وَأَزْكَاهَا عِنْدَ مَلِيكِكُمْ، وَأَرْفَعِهَا فِي دَرَجَاتِكُمْ وَخَيْرٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ إِنْفَاقِ الذَّهَبِ وَالوَرِقِ، وَخَيْرٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنْ تَلْقَوْا عَدُوَّكُمْ فَتَضْرِبُوا أَعْنَاقَهُمْ وَيَضْرِبُوا أَعْنَاقَكُمْ؟» قَالُوا: بَلَى. قَالَ: «ذِكْرُ اللهِ تَعَالَى».
Kutoka kwa Abuu Dardaa -Radhi za Allah ziwe juu yake- Amesema: Amesema Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu -Rehema na amani za Mwenyezi Mungu ziwe juu yake: “Je, nisiwaambieni matendo bora zaidi kwenu, na masafi zaidi mbele ya Mfalme wenu, na yatakayo kunyanyueni juu zaidi katika daraja zenu, na bora kwenu kuliko kutoa dhahabu na pesa, na bora kwenu kuliko hata kukutana na adui yenu na mkapiga shingo zao na wakapiga shingo zenu?" Wakasema: Ndiyo. Akasema: “Ni kumtaja Mwenyezi Mungu".
Abu ad-Dardā’ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you of the best of your deeds and the purest in the sight of your Sovereign and the highest in your ranks and better for you than spending gold and silver, and better for you than encountering your enemy so you strike their necks and they strike your necks?" They said: Yes. He said: "Dhikr (remembrance) of Allah Almighty."
